Old Projects Collection

A home for the small web apps I built while learning frontend development, designed as a nostalgic early-2000s personal homepage: a mock Internet Explorer window, a starry gradient banner, a scrolling marquee, a sidebar menu, a "projects online" counter, and a status bar.

Key features:

• Project list with screenshots, short descriptions, tech used, and links to the live site and source code
• A detail page for each project with a full write-up, key features, and a project info panel
• Breadcrumb navigation, a sidebar index of every project, and next-project links
• Retro design details throughout, from the browser chrome and marquee to 88x31-style badges

Engineering:

• Built with the Next.js App Router, with project pages statically generated
• Content loaded from Payload CMS, showing only projects flagged as old projects
• Write-ups stored as Markdown in the CMS and rendered with React Markdown and GFM
• Tag-based caching with an on-demand revalidation endpoint, so CMS changes appear without a rebuild
